Azienda Agricola Podere La Madia is located in the Val d'Arno di Sopra, in the province of Arezzo, on the Setteponti Ponente road, at the foot of the Pratomagno Massif. With approximately 10 hectares of land, including 7 hectares of olive groves and 3 hectares of vineyards, we produce extra virgin olive oil and typical wines of our territory.
Due to the conformation of the territory, our vineyards and olive groves are on terraces at various altitudes with south-western exposure. The company is certified Organic and is a member of F.I.V.I. and F.I.V.I. Toscana.
Believing that our company should create its own harmonious and autonomous balance without using fertilizers based on foreign components, we decided not to use organic fertilizers of animal origin. Every year, in different areas of the company according to necessity, we proceed with sowing broad beans, lupins, alfalfa, clover, vetch, etc... in addition to grinding and returning to the soil all the pruning branches from both vines and olive trees.
With this method, the soil is enriched with humus, becomes alive again, fills with life forms, and the plants use their roots to extract the nutrients they need for their growth.
At Podere La Madia, we offer tasting experiences designed to discover the authentic flavors of our land. Our guests can savor organic wines produced in our vineyards, accompanied by extra virgin olive oil and typical local products.
The tastings take place in a familiar and welcoming environment, immersed in the greenery of the Tuscan hills. During the visit, we tell the story of our company, the cultivation and production techniques, and share the passion that guides us every day.
We offer different tasting paths, suitable for both wine enthusiasts and those approaching the wine world for the first time. It is possible to book guided tours of the vineyards and olive groves, with explanations of the cultivated varieties and the organic practices adopted.
